There are many spot cleaning products available for carpeting. This is a simple way to clean carpeting before you go out and buy one. Add a few drops of white vinegar to the stain. Wait two minutes. Next, use a paper towel to gently wipe off any remaining residue. This works often.

Most stains can be removed by gentle rubbing with warm, soapy water. Hardwood floors should not be left wet. It should be dried completely.

Old, discolored grout can be a problem for ceramic tile floors. There are many products that can clean grout. Before you buy grout cleaning products, use an old toothbrush and some water. Gently scrub the grout. Next, clean the entire area.

The best option is to replace damaged hardwood floors or tiles. This is not a job you can do yourself.

If you are unable to replace the entire piece because of a crack, sealing products can be used to camouflage it.
